The Seasons

The White Lake Area is a four-season playground. Winter activities are numerous including snowmobiling, cross country skiing and sledding. In the spring, the snow melts away, allowing for great activities including nature hiking and biking on the 26-mile bike trail. The White Lake Area heats up in the summer for even more great activities including canoeing and kayaking along the White River, as well as boating on White Lake and Lake Michigan. Finally, the fall brings even more activities including color tours, disc golfing, and horseback riding. No matter the season, the White Lake Area offers something for anyone to enjoy.

The Attractions

The attractions in the White Lake Area are numerous. Upon first arriving in the White Lake Area, no visit is complete without a stop to the White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, located on the causeway between Montague and Whitehall. Housed in an old train depot, the White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is a one stop shop for all tourist and travel information in and around the White Lake Area. Other attractions in the White Lake Area include the White River Light Station Museum, the World’s Largest Weathervane, the Montague City Museum, Michigan’s Adventure Amusement Park, and the Hart-Montague Bike Trail. |

Winter events include the annual Perch Festival, January Slide, and a Youth Wintersportsfest. Spring and Summer events include area Nature Walks, Art Escape Weekend, Water Safety Day, free Summer Concert Series all summer long, the White Lake Area Arts & Crafts Festival, 4th of July Parade and Fireworks, Celebrate White Lake & Wooden Boat Show, Cruz’in classic car parade, Blueberry Festival, and the White Lake Area Maritime Festival. Fall and Holiday events include the White Lake Area Fall Fest, Pumpkinfest, Muskegon County Depot to Depot Color Tour, Tellabration Storytelling Festival, White Lake Area Holiday Christmas Walk, and the annual Christmas Parade. |
